No. Guava offers a simple self-serve setup. Just sign up and we’ll create your Dashboard for you. The platform is designed to be user-friendly, with an intuitive interface that makes it easy to get started. And if you ever need support, our team is here to help every step of the way.

  • Biomarkers: Modify and create biomarker groups to see specific labs for certain groups of patients.
  • Reference ranges: Set custom ranges tailored to your patients’ baselines and goals.
  • Alerts: Set alerts for when your patients surpass certain thresholds, like heart rate or weight, for example.
  • Health scores: Create unique scores that represent each patient’s health goals and progress across prevention, monitoring, and action areas.

Can Guava integrate with wearables or fitness trackers?

Yes. Guava integrates with most major wearable devices to sync data like sleep, heart rate, activity, and more, with no manual input needed. Integrations also include thousands of iOS and Android health apps, not all of which have a wearable device. Since Guava Premium is included for all your patients, this data is used to automatically surface statistically significant health insights.

How do provider check-ins work?

You can create custom check-in prompts tailored to each patient (e.g., “How are your fatigue levels today?” or “Remember to take your morning meds”). You can also set defaults for all the patients in your organization. This data will then appear in your patient’s key metrics section.

Can my patients track medications and symptoms in Guava?

Yes. You and your patients can set up custom medication and symptom tracking reminders, which can help you understand fluctuations, adherence, and long-term patterns. Guava also supports many more optional tracking types, including lifestyle, activity, menstrual cycle, and vitals.

Does Guava support chronic condition management?

Yes, patients can log medications, symptoms, and biometrics. As a provider, you can also set up structured check-ins to monitor patterns in health factors like chronic pain, fatigue, GI symptoms, etc.

Does Guava support group practices or teams?

Yes. Guava supports multiple provider logins and system-wide defaults for patient check-ins and custom reference ranges. You can also assign colleagues within your practice to specific patients for easier profile access.

What level of white labeling do you support?

Your organization name and logo will appear in several key areas of the Guava experience, particularly during patient onboarding and throughout the app interface. Additional levels of white-labeling are available for higher-tier paid accounts.

Privacy & Security

I’m concerned about data privacy. How does Guava keep health data secure?

We take privacy and security seriously and understand the importance of keeping your and your patients’ data safe. For that reason, we do not sell data, nor will we ever share data without your or your patient’s permission.

All data stored in Guava is secured and encrypted using industry-standard encryption algorithms. Among other security measures, data is also safeguarded from unauthorized access and tampering, and utilizes modern cloud technologies built for HIPAA compliance.

EHRs & Integrations

I already have an electronic health record (EHR) system. How is this different?

The Provider Dashboard isn’t meant to replace your EHR; it’s designed to work alongside it. It enables easier access to your patients’ health metrics over time, including daily wearable health data, medical records, labs, and custom patient data entries.

Does Guava connect with patient portals like MyChart, Cerner, and Elation?

Yes, Guava allows patients to securely sync with most major patient portals within the US using their portal login info. For providers outside the US or providers whose patients have some non-US EHR data, Guava automatically extracts records from PDFs and images in any language and supports CCDA XML imports.

What if my patient doesn’t have a portal login?

Sometimes a portal login can be created quickly using the EHR’s online instructions. If not, or if records are only stored on paper or legacy systems, records can be scanned and imported to Guava as PDFs or images and Guava will automatically extract relevant lab results and records using AI.

How would I integrate this into my existing workflow?

How you use the Provider Dashboard depends on how you care for your patients.

When you invite patients to use Guava, they’ll set up their own Guava account, which they can access on iOS, Android, and the web. Guava was initially designed as a patient-first app to help users better understand and manage their health, so it offers several features to keep them engaged:

  • Premium access for every active patient at no extra cost to them.
  • Provider check-ins that keep patients engaged without overwhelming them.

How does Guava improve patient retention?

Guava helps build your ongoing relationship with patients through check-ins, trend tracking, and insights into their health. By making them feel supported between visits, you can help patients stay engaged with your practice.

What if my patients aren’t very tech-savvy?

We’ve designed the Guava patient experience with simplicity and accessibility in mind, and we’re constantly improving accessibility to support users of all abilities.

For patients who may be less comfortable with technology, we offer features like voice-based logging using the Guava assistant. Patients can upload photos of their food to track nutrition, and AI will analyze them to record relevant nutritional information. Users can also ask the AI assistant specific questions about their Guava data, making it easier to track their health without needing to type or navigate the app.

What if my patients forget or lose interest in tracking?

We’ve built Guava to make health tracking simple and sustainable, even for patients who struggle to stay consistent.

That being said, it’s possible that tracking won’t make sense for all your patients. If that’s the case, they can still easily search for records and get insights from data passively collected by wearables. If rigorous daily logging is needed, it can be helpful to define a limited time period, to avoid patient burnout.

In addition to this, you can:

  • Set up custom check-ins tailored to the patient’s routine and needs.
  • Encourage voice or assistant-based logging for quick or bulk entries.
  • Use Guava Tags (NFC-powered stickers) to make tracking as simple as tapping a phone to a med bottle, food container, or keychain.

What if I’m not interested in symptom tracking for my patients?

No problem. Symptom tracking is just one of the ways patients use Guava. We’ve built a wide variety of useful features for you and your patients, including:

  • Medical record consolidation from patient portals and uploaded documents
  • Data syncing from multiple wearable devices
  • Medication reminders
  • AI-powered nutrition tracking

Billing & Cost

I don’t think all of my patients will use Guava. Is it still worth it?

Yes. Many providers choose to use Guava only with their most engaged patients or those who need closer monitoring. You’re only billed for active patients, so if a patient’s profile has not been active (from either the patient or provider) for 30 days, it won’t count toward your billing.

Your base fee covers up to ten active patients per month for $60, and you’ll only be charged $6/patient for additional active users beyond that.

What if I just want to try it out with a few patients?

No problem. The Provider Dashboard has a built-in free trial for up to three patients. To add more patients, you’ll have to move to our minimum $60/month plan, which includes ten active patients and costs $6 per additional patient.

How will the Provider Dashboard save me time?

This depends on your workflow. Guava is a tool designed to make your work easier, not to add to your plate. If the most time-consuming part of your day is:

  • Collecting records: Guava makes it easy for patients to share their own records by automatically syncing from patient portals and uploading documents–no more faxing or phone calls.
  • Sorting through past medical history: Guava organizes records into a searchable, filterable timeline so you and your patients can find things quickly.
  • Prepping for visits: Patients can create visit prep summaries using data collected between visits and relevant medical history. You’ll also see patient updates and alerts at the top of your Dashboard, so you'll know if they’ve started a new medication, gotten labs back, or triggered an alert.
  • Charting: You can use your patients' visit prep summaries to find medication lists, chief complaints, symptom frequency and severity, and other relevant information your patient noted before their visit.
  • Monitoring key metrics: Key metrics give you a snapshot of your patient's health over time. You can compare wearable data, symptom logs, nutritional data, med adherence, and more on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
